Selected Project Experience

Aliso Canyon Natural Gas Disaster: As part of a much larger project, reviewed household dust sampling data and developed an air dispersion model following the Aliso Canyon blowout. Work evaluated infiltration of natural gas-related contaminants into homes and informed future monitoring and community health surveillance.

Metal Recycling Facility Fire – East Bay, California: Analyzed real-time air quality data following a large recycling facility fire. Evaluated community exposure pathways and potential risks from smoke and particulate releases.

Soil Arsenic Evaluation: In response to elevated arsenic levels identified on a residential property, a site investigation was conducted that included soil sampling and fingerprinting analysis to determine if elevated arsenic were related to wildfire impacts or legacy contamination.

Evaluation of Chemical Spill Potential at a Southern California Warehouse: Conducted modeling and exposure assessment of chemical vapors potentially released during an accidental spill, assessing hazards to nearby residents.

Fugitive Dust from Automotive Recycling Facility: Identified sensitive receptors and performed a human health risk assessment for lead in fugitive dust generated by a large-scale automobile recycling operation.

Community Air Quality and Health Surveillance Panel: Served on a review panel for a community surveillance program near an aluminum smelter, advising on air quality monitoring design and interpretation of health data.
